Societe Generale Ghana has rolled out a mobile banking van equipped with an ATM enabled for cash withdrawals and deposits, payments, and other digital banking services.

The bank launched its new mobile service during a ceremony in Ghana’s capital city, Accra, according to a report by Ghana Web.

The bank’s managing director, Sionle Yeo, told reporters the mobile van is part of an effort to transform, improve, strengthen and sustain customer relationships through innovative products.

Deputy managing director Franchois Marchal said the mobile ATM initiative aims to make banking convenient and simple for Societe Generale customers.

Society Generale is not the only bank on the African continent to take up this goal recently. Last week, Nigeria’s Wema Bank introduced its own mobile ATM and branch service, as well.
